When I'm oot and aboot on the town, nothing sparks joy in my gaijin heart quite like spotting a slightly incomprehensible mistranslated sign. And as a Canadian, I have the lucky honour of seeing both of my country's national languages get まちがい'd on apparel, signage, and DAISO packaging.
The Japanese obsession with all things 「フランス」is really apparent. Forget 'avenue' or 'boulevard'- not Frenchy enough! Many streets, including the street I live on are called an エスポワール something (esupowa-ru = espoir, hope).
